The Future Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of new work by Fernando Sanchez, entitled Straight Gangsta. This exhibition will feature new work a series of videos, songs, and performances using rap music as a form of cultural criticism and art critique.

Sanchez explores the artistic potential of gangsta rap music. Channeled through fabricated personas he expresses his thoughts and attitudes about the contemporary art world. The results are aggressively introspective often cathartic portraits of the artist exercising his issues through his lyrics. One of his personas, Song Kwai Li, also details his ideas and opinions through his supplemental project LA ART SUCKS, a online blog presence.

Fernando (1980) lives and works in Los Angeles. His work has been exhibited widely throughout the US at such venues as: Schroder/Romero, NYC, de Soto Gallery, LA, Lloyd Dobler Gallery, Chicago.
